Cellar tour, wine tasting, Franconian snacks. This is how a wine tasting at Weingut Römmert proceeds and what you'll learn from it.
Understand wine, not just drink it
A wine tasting at Weingut Römmert is more than filling glasses. You will learn how grapes become wine, why the soil is more important than the weather, and why the Silvaner tastes the way it does here.
The winery has been producing wine at the Mainschleife since 1917.
How a wine tasting works
The tour starts in the historic wine cellar. The vaults date from the 19th century. Here the wines are stored in stainless steel tanks and barrique barrels.
The cellar master explains the work in the vineyard: pruning, canopy management, and harvest. Then it's on to the glasses. Four to six wines are tasted, depending on the chosen package.
The grape varieties
The winery cultivates eight grape varieties. The Silvaner makes up the largest share. In addition, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and Domina are produced.
Which wine tasting suits you?
The Classic: Cellar tour plus four wines. Lasts about 90 minutes.
